Ayse Sanli is the founder of Sanli Legal in London, bringing extensive expertise in international law with a focus on international commercial and investment arbitration, construction and energy sectors, economic sanctions, and compliance issues.
Ayse began her legal career in 2007 at one of Turkey's largest law firms. She then enhanced her international experience by joining the New York office of DLA Piper LLP (US), where she worked for 3.5 years in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department within the International Practice Group.
Throughout her career, Ayse has advised and represented top-tier private and public companies, as well as government entities, on a diverse range of matters including construction, energy, antitrust, economic sanctions, compliance, corporate law, and mergers & acquisitions. She has a distinguished track record in investment arbitration, having served as counsel in several high-profile ICC and ICSID arbitrations. Additionally, she has acted as counsel in numerous domestic and international arbitrations, both ad hoc and institutional, under various arbitration rules.
Ayse holds an LL.M. degree and a Wharton Business and Law Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania (2010) and an LL.B. from Galatasaray University (2007). She is admitted to practice in New York, U.S.A., and Istanbul, Turkey. She is fluent in Turkish, English, and French.
